Nikolai Fraiture Phillipe (November 13, 1978, New York), nicknamed Niko, is the bassist for the band The Strokes New Yorker and has a side project called Nickel Eye He grew up in New York, the son of a French mother and a Russian father worked at Macy's. once when he was very young, Fraiture was caught trying to steal a Luke Skywalker doll from Macy's that was where his father was working. He speaks fluent French. Fraiture is known as the quietest member of the band. He plays low as Fender Jazz bass, Rickenbaker and Nikolai Music Man cuts his own hair and does not smoke. He has one daughter, Elysia, born in the summer of 2004, and is married to an Englishwoman whose name is Illy Fraiture. When the band The Strokes broke up 4 years later Nikolai got them together again.
